This Unfinished Life of Mine
Speaking of the kitchen...here are a few pics of where we are at right now. We need to fill in that hole in the wall that was once upon a time an ironing board (unless I can talk Aaron into making me a new one), paint, put in baseboards, redo the lino (sad story there!), replace the light fixtures, etc etc etc. We'll be truly finished the day we put a for sale sign in the yard, lol.
Since I have such a large number of WIPs right now, I dub this week, Claire's WIP Week. Everyday this week, I'll feature another WIP. And next week, I'll show off the finished products. Except the kitchen, of course. I won't be finishing that beast in a week.

I think you ought to paint the back of the ironing cabinet a different color and stick shelves in there. It could hold tea cups or salt and pepper shakers or cookbooks or matchbox cars, lol.
I had a frank little talk with Mr. Knitsonya this weekend about how we never seem to get ahead with stuff around the house, just treading water. Functional, but unfinished, oh how that so applies. Let's start a club.
I'm envious of your unfinished kitchen and bath. How pitiful am I?
I love this idea! Unfinished projects seem to be a common theme at my home as well!
I can really identify with your post! Oh if you could only see all the unfinished business in my house. I have a drawer of sculpted heads and limbs that need bodies, piles of paper that need sorting, electronic equipment that needs setting up... the list goes on and on!!!
Oh boy do we have a lot in common! My husband starts projects constantly and never finishes anything. I was just thinking how the house has defeated us. We don't anticipate staying in it forever so I finally decided to just go with the flow, try to get things done without everything being so picture perfect (I'm saving that for the next house - which will be new!)and see what happens!

I'm envious too! I soooooooooooo want new cabinets and to redo my kitchen. It's looking beautiful Claire!
Me... I'd keep the ironing board (add one back in). Just me, but I like that sort of thing. :o)
I love the cabintes. I didn't notice them before. Listen, I don;t know anyone who lives in a "finished" house. I don't think Martha Stewart lives in a finished house.
I can relate to the point of pain. I have not been able to blog, work, or doing anything but clean...sand, saw, screw, wipe, and sleep for the last three weeks.
Hopefully we can swap updated photos.
