Spring Flowers
I am ready for spring, can you tell? I put my pattern girls away for a bit to work on these flower pins and hairclips. I really love them! And they are so super easy to make. I used a few of the flower tutorials that are out there right now and then sort of tweaked them. I'm not big on following directions, so I modified them to my liking. How do they look?
So, yesterday was Valentines Day and Aaron and I were going to go to the movies, something we haven't done in ages. However, the night before both our kids decided to cry and be generally unhappy until 2 in the morning, so we were pretty beat. Besides, is it just me, or do movies seem like a crappy date now? When we go out, I want to talk and visit and have adult conversation. We can Netflix movies anytime. Although, occasionally we rent a movie and say, "dang that was probably awesome on the big screen!" Like Moulin Rouge and Marie Antoinette. Great movies that were probably completely unforgettable in theatres. I still need to see MA, but I can tell from what people are saying that it was awesome.
Maybe I should Netflix it right now?

Hi Claire--my movie dates are usually my lil men. We like to catch the matinees on Saturday or Sundays but other than that, we don't usually go there for dates. Movies have gotten too pricey between the cost of show, popcorn and drinks for two people, it's close to 30 dollars around here...I'd rather go out for appetizerss or a lighter dinner and then rent a movie for about the same price!

Hey also...just wanted to check in with you about the pink and brown swap...could you email me at johl3 at windstream dot net? Thanks a bunch!

Haven't seen MA yet either and probably won't get to see it at the cinema, we tend to go as a family and I can't see 3 teenage boys being really into that. Love your sewing gals and Kae Collages, is Mod Podge better to use than PVA?

Your photo is so pretty! It's like fabric flower porn. I recently made some flower pins for my little sister at college. She got the package yesterday and was so thrilled. I think she shared them with some of her dorm mates. Now I am loved by many.

The flower pins and hair clips are just smashing! They are so fun to make....I'm ready for spring too! Bring it on! Oh, and I hate to be negative or anything, but don't get your hopes TOO high for Marie A. I was so excited to see it that I built it way up.....and I was fairly disappointed. I still think you should see it, I'd love to hear your opninon. I feel like I'm the only one who wasn't crazy about it. And It's SO up my alley, I expected it to be my new favorite movie ever....and it just, uh, wasn't. My take on it: beautiful, lavish scenery and costumes can only go so far with me....even eye candy gets old when there isn't anything else to identify with. Just my two cents worth! (I'm ready to be crucified now.....)
