Debris
Taking out the cabinets revealed years of contact paper and wallpaper left by kitchen users past. It was a little eerie seeing the remnants of their kitchens. I guess the next owners will think that way about us. While more work was being done I went to Home Depot to pick up the lino floor tiles. I had planned on getting black and whit checkerboard and came back with a funky-retro (in my world anyway) tile that I liked better. I hope it goes OK with the cabinets.
It is pretty nerve wracking to pick cabinet facings, light fixtures, tiles, paint when none of it is together and in the house yet. I am just picking the things I like and hoping (praying) that it will all go together. I sort of live by the rule, "If you like it, it will all fall into place" when it comes to home decorating. I think it works. No one tells me my house is ugly. Of course if someone did, I'm not exactly sure what I would do...
Anyway, Aaron is plugging away at the kitchen and we are optimistic that we will have it in working order by the weekend. Miracles can happen, right?

Looks like my cabinets. But mine are still on the wall - ugh. I agree... pick what you like and it will be beautiful.

Good Luck with the kitchen I'm sure it will all be worth it in the end.
